USC whips Minnesota, but questions linger
By ESPN.com staff
USC muddled around -- again -- but finally overwhelmed Minnesota, 32-14.
The good news is the Trojans are 3-0. But everyone expected the Trojans to be 3-0. And they likely will improve to 4-0 at Washington State next weekend.
The bad news is the Trojans are still committing too many penalties: 7 for 72 yards. Though that is a lot better than the 12 for 125 yards they were averaging in the first two games.
And QB Matt Barkley tossed his first two interceptions of the season.
The bottom line: We still don't have a good feeling about where the Trojans will fall in the Pac-10.
