Oregon second in both polls
By Ted Miller
Oregon didn't look its best at Washington State -- and injuries put a damper on a 20-point win -- but the Ducks' national-title hopes are now a reality as they moved up a spot to No. 2 in both major polls.
If the season ended today, it likely would be a rematch of last season's Rose Bowl for the national title -- Ohio State is No. 1 in both polls. The first set of BCS standings come out next week.
The Ducks received 15 first-place votes in the AP poll and six in the coaches poll.
Stanford was 14th in the AP poll, 15th with the coaches. Arizona fell to 17th and 20th after losing at home to Oregon State, which jumped back into the AP poll at 24th.
The coaches opted not to rank the Beavers.
