Three Pac-10 players Academic All-Americans

Stanford's center Chase Beeler has been named a first-team member of ESPN Academic All-America team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Beeler, one of the nation's best centers, owns a 3.68 GPA in history.
Stanford linebacker-fullback Owen Marecic and Washington State safety Chima Nwachukwu were named to the second-team. Marecic has a 3.47 GPA in human biology, while Nwachukwu has a 3.85 in political science.
To be eligible for ESPN Academic All-America honors, a student-athlete must be a starter or a key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00 and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing. Student-athletes are nominated by their respective institutions and then placed on a district ballot for voting by CoSIDA members.
