MRI shows knee sprain for UCLA safety Dye
By ESPN.com staff
An MRI of UCLA safety Tony Dye's knee revealed a mild sprain and he is now listed as day-to-day, the school announced.
Say Bruins fans: Whew! There were concerns Tuesday that things might be worse than a "mild sprain."
While UCLA is fairly deep at safety in terms of talent, Dye is a senior and returning starter who earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors in 2010. Further, the Bruins have been notoriously unlucky with injuries during spring practices, so perhaps their luck is changing?
In other Bruins injury news, tight end John Young has not yet had an MRI for his subluxed left shoulder but he is doubtful to return for this spring.
UCLA will scrimmage Thursday instead of Friday so coach Rick Neuheisel can attend Homer Smith’s funeral in Alabama on Friday.
