Agnew a no-go for Oregon State
By ESPN.com staff
It shouldn't be surprising Oregon State's true freshman running back Malcolm Agnew isn't making the trip to Wisconsin for Saturday's game.
For one, it was apparent the hamstring injury he suffered in practice this week was not minor.
Second, little is going right for the Beavers at this point, so this makes perfect sense.
All Agnew did in his college debut was rush for 233 yards against Sacramento State. That total made him the nation's leading rusher.
With Agnew out, carries likely will be divided between true freshman Terron Ward and Jordan Jenkins.
The Beavers also are uncertain at quarterback, where starter Ryan Katz now will share the job with redshirt freshman Sean Mannion, who replaced Katz against Sacramento State and acquitted himself well.
On the potential plus side, the Beavers are expecting good news later this afternoon on the academic status of defensive tackle Dominic Glover. He was expected to start before running into an academic issue that sidelined him for the Sac State game.
Against the Badgers big, physical offensive line, the Beavers will need all the defensive linemen they can get.
