Pac-12 Heisman Trophy update
By Ted Miller
Here's a look at what the Pac-12's top Heisman Trophy candidates did over the weekend. Names will be added or subtracted to the list, as warranted.
Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford: The Cardinal quarterback completed 20-of-28 for 290 yards with four touchdowns and one interception in Stanford's win over Duke. He presently ranks 21st in the nation in passing efficiency. A big game at Arizona would again thrust him back into the top-five. Trending? Same.
LaMichael James, QB, Oregon: James had 12 carries for 67 yards and a touchdown in the Ducks blowout win over Nevada. He also caught two passes for 56 yards and a touchdown. Trending? Down.
Matt Barkley, QB, USC: Barkley completed 20 of 32 passes for 264 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the win over Utah. Trending? Same.
Chris Polk, RB, Washington: Polk had 22 carries for 107 yards and a touchdown against Hawaii, his second consecutive game with more than 100 yards. He ranks 25th in the nation in rushing. Trending? Up.
Nick Foles, QB, Arizona: Foles completed 37 of 51 passes for 398 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions in the Wildcats loss at Oklahoma State. His 405 passing yards per game leads the nation. But losing doesn't help the cause. Trending? Same.
Darron Thomas, QB, Oregon: Thomas completed 13 of 19 passes for 295 yards and six touchdowns. He also rushed three times for 35 yards. Trending? Same.
