BERKELEY, Calif. -- It looks like Matt Barkley's shoulder feels fine.

USC has jumped ahead 10-0 and Barkley has completed 7-of-9 for 141 yards.

But the Trojans' struggles on third down -- and fourth down -- just reappeared.

Cal's stuff on a fourth-and-2 gives the Bears good field position to start the second quarter.

USC entered the game ranked last in the Pac-10 in third-down efficiency, converting just 25 percent of its opportunities. The Trojans are 1-3 this evening and, of course, 0-1 on fourth down.

Now, can the Bears take advantage?
