Pac-12 all over Athlon All-America teams
By ESPN.com staff
Six Pac-12 players are preseason first-team All-Americans, according to Athlon Sports -- seven if you count Oregon's multi-purpose threat De'Anthony Thomas twice.
Thomas is listed as both an all-purpose offensive player and a kick returner. USC QB Matt Barkley and Trojans WR Robert Woods join Thomas on the offense.
Utah DT Star Lotulelei, USC safety T.J. McDonald and Stanford OLB Chase Thomas are first-team on defense.
California's Keenan Allen and Washington State's Marquess Wilson are the second-team receivers. When you toss in USC's Marqise Lee on the third team, Athlon has four of the nation's top six receivers coming from the Pac-12.
USC center Khaled Holmes is second team on offense, as is Washington tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins (Sefarian-Jenkins' name was left off of the original post, either due to an unintentional oversight or because the Pac-12 blog has a longstanding feud with all players with hyphenated last names). Trojans CB Nickell Robey and Oregon safety John Boyett are second team on defense.
In addition to Lee, Oregon RB Kenjon Barner is third team on offense, along with UCLA TE Joseph Fauria.
Trojans LB Dion Bailey is third team on defense, giving USC seven players on Athlon's three teams.
