Halftime: Arizona 23, Oklahoma State 14

By Ted Miller

TUCSON, Ariz. -- We've had two games in the first half.

In the first game, Oklahoma State dominated, going up 14-0 and looking unstoppable on offense with touchdown drives of 61 and 64 yards.

In the second game, Arizona dominated, scoring 23 unanswered points and -- shockingly perhaps -- stopping the Cowboys on six consecutive possessions.

So the Wildcats lead the 18th-ranked Cowboys 23-14 at the half.

The Cowboys helped turn things in the Wildcats favor a bunch. They had two turnovers as well as nine penalties for 110 yards.

Arizona quarterback Matt Scott was the first-half MVP. He kept his team cool during the early going, and then he led the response. He completed 19 of 27 passes for 204 yards with a TD. He also ran nine times for 27  yards.

The Wildcats get the third-quarter kickoff. If they get points, it would put the Cowboys on upset alert.

A victory would certainly boost new Wildcats' coach Rich Rodriguez's stock.
