It appears that Reggie Bush is about to become the first player in the 75-year history of the Heisman Trophy to have the award taken away, according to a Yahoo! Sports report.
USC already has surrendered its copy of Bush's trophy to the Heisman Trophy Trust.
Ah, just another chapter in one of the shameful stories in college football history.
Wouldn't it be great if at some point Bush and his parents, Denise Bush and stepfather Lamar Griffin, would step up and say, "We're sorry. It wasn't worth it."
Or if the NFL made a rule that if an individual was found to have provided improper extra benefits to a college athlete that individual would be banned for life from working in any capacity with the NFL?
Don't hold your breath on either of those things happen, though.
