Washington jumps ahead in Apple Cup

A 50-yard touchdown pass from Jake Locker to Jermaine Kearse has given Washington a 10-0 lead over Washington State early in the second quarter of the Apple Cup.

In other words, this one appears to be going according to form. Sure, it's a rivalry game, but the Cougars just don't have the horses to keep up. The Huskies would have to be unfocused and uninspired -- like they were last year -- to lose.

But who knows? Stranger things have happened.

The Huskies have outgained the Cougars 145-54. Washington State started Kevin Lopina, but his early interception led to the insertion of Marshall Lobbestael.
