Power Rankings: No. 20 Philadelphia

A weekly examination of the Eagles’ ESPN.com Power Ranking:

Preseason: 25| Last Week: 26 | ESPN.com Power Ranking since 2002

Quarterback Nick Foles’ record-tying seven touchdown passes helped the Eagles move up six spots in ESPN.com’s weekly Power Rankings. That’s the biggest jump on the list, a week after the Eagles had the biggest drop. A graph of the Eagles’ rankings would look like an EKG readout with sharp spikes in both directions. That seems like an accurate reflection of coach Chip Kelly’s first season. The Eagles have looked very good or very bad, with Sunday’s 49-20 romp in Oakland an example of the former.

Can it be the start of a steadier climb up the rankings? If Foles can provide consistency at quarterback, it just might.
