Eagles links: Draft picks begin to sign

Reading the coverage of the Philadelphia Eagles as the team prepares to open a three-day rookie minicamp beginning Friday:
  • According to Philadelphiaeagles.com, the Eagles have signed seventh-round pick Beau Allen to a four-year contract. The 6-foot-6 nose tackle from Wisconsin becomes the second draft pick to sign, joining wide receiver Josh Huff, chosen in the third round from Oregon.
  • CSNPhilly.com notes that the Eagles have invited seven additional players to rookie camp, including Baker Steinkuhler, a 6-6 defensive tackle from Nebraska. His father, Dean, was a first-round pick by the Houston Oilers in 1984.
  • In the Wilmington (Del.) News Journal, Martin Frank questions whether the Eagles’ draft picks will receive much action when the regular season starts.
