PHILADELPHIA -- After trading for Carolina Panthers running back and returner Kenjon Barner on Wednesday night, the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday morning released rookie free agent running back David Fluellen.

A 5-foot-11, 224-pound running back out of Toledo, Fluellen got six carries and rushed for 25 yards in the Eagles' first preseason game against Chicago. He was targeted two times in the passing game and made one catch for 14 yards and a touchdown. Fluellen did not play in the Eagles' second game last Friday against New England.
