Eagles' interest in Cody Latimer growing?

By Andy Jasner

The Philadelphia Eagles had three staff members visit Indiana wide receiver Cody Latimer on Friday during a workout and then spent 20 minutes afterwards for a further evaluation, according to NFL.com.

Eagles coach Chip Kelly and wide receivers coach Bob Bicknell also reportedly attended the workout, according to NFL Media and cited by CSNPhilly.com.

Latimer, projected by ESPN’s Todd McShay as the Eagles’ pick at No. 22, is one of 30 prospects invited to New York City to attend the NFL draft, which begins May 8.

Latimer had 72 receptions for 1,096 yards and nine touchdowns last season for the Hoosiers.

“This is a bit of a reach based on where I have Latimer ranked on my board -- 34th overall -- but the Eagles need a receiver and I’m a big fan of Latimer’s game,” McShay wrote in his analysis of Latimer. “He has very good size, toughness and instincts in addition to good straight-line speed, strong run-after-catch ability and a big catching radius. He also has reliable hands -- in the five game tapes I watched of his, he didn’t drop a single pass. I think he could be a very good fit in Chip Kelly’s offense.”
