Man U defender latest Twitter fine recipient

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand was fined $70,630 by the English Football Association after retweeting someone else's tweet calling Chelsea left back Ashley Cole, who is black, "choc ice."
It's the first time we can recall a player getting fined for a retweet. Here's a list of people in the sports world who were fined for tweeting something, led by Miami Heat owner Micky Arison who was fined $500,000, a record fine for a tweet, when he talked about about the NBA labor situation in the midst of the lockout.
