Super Bowl odds through first 3 weeks
By Darren Rovell
I always love to look at how odds change during the season. Now that we're almost past Week 3, it's interesting to look at what might have been the value bets.
The Arizona Cardinals' Super Bowl odds have improved from 150-1 in Week 1 to 30-1.
Those with the biggest smiles on their faces might be gamblers who plunked down their money on the Arizona Cardinals (3-0).
After Week 1, a bettor could have gotten the Cardinals at 150-1 at the Las Vegas Hotel to win the Super Bowl. But wins against the Patriots and the Eagles dropped the team's odds to 60-1 last week and now 30-1 this week.
The Houston Texans might be a more realistic choice to win the big game. The Las Vegas Hotel has dropped the Texans from 8-1 after Week 1, to 9-2 last week and 7-2 this morning.
Even though the Denver Broncos are 1-2, there's still hope in Peyton Manning. After being at 10-1 odds to win it all after Weeks 1 and 2, the Broncos are only 25-1 this week. And no one would dare count out the 1-2 Patriots. The Patriots went from 5-1 to 8-1 to 10-1.
The biggest slide understandably has been the New Orleans Saints, who opened 0-3 while losing to teams that haven't beaten anyone else. The Saints started the season at 30-1. Last week, they were at 60-1 and are being offered at 80-1 this week.
