It's time for some mustache madness in Bowie, Md.
The Bowie Baysox, Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, are offering ticket specials and promotions to mustachioed fans and 'stache supporters at Friday night's home game against the Altoona Curve.
"Personally, my cookie duster leaves a lot to be desired, but I have tons of respect for those who are able to grow respectable and even spectacular soup strainers,” Baysox promotions manager Chris Rogers said in a remarkably witty statement. “I enjoy seeing how creative fans can get with their homegrown or homemade mustache, and this year we are going to have a lot of fun celebrating the lip sweater once again with several special offers.”
Fans can get tickets for two box seats, a mustachioed bobblehead doll of the team's mascot and a raffle ticket for a chance to win a baseball autographed by Hall of Famer Rollie Fingers. Better yet, for each $20 pack sold, the Baysox will donate $4 to the Donors Choose charity, which is supported by Mustaches For Kids Baltimore.
The Baysox will also put on mustache-themed contests throughout the game, including ones to identify the fans with the best and most pathetic mustaches.
