As chaotic as it was compelling, Monday Night Raw did a tremendous job selling me on the Extreme Rules pay-per-view that’s set to explode on May 19. In one night, we saw superstars smashed from every angle with a ladder, Mark Henry whipping Sheamus with a belt, Ryback blasting John Cena with a steel chair, and Brock Lesnar tearing apart Triple H’s office complete with laptop homicide and sledgehammer destruction.
And while I don’t sport the shirt, I’m proud to admit that I’m a Paul Heyman guy. What can I say, he’s the best at acting the worst, and he’s so smug, so despicable in his every action on screen, all I can do is smirk at the evil genius at work. Heyman puts great thought and emphasis into every facial expression, every syllable he spits, elevating feuds into epic showdowns, and I can’t wait to see what happens when Brock Lesnar and Triple H collide inside a steel cage. This should be the last time we see these two legends square off, and I expect them both to leave it all inside the ring in what’s shaping up to be one of the most anticipated pay-per-views of the year.
