Will Eli Manning be an "SNL" success like brother Peyton? He definitely will if he uses these ideas. Greg M. Cooper/US Presswire

Eli Manning has been tabbed as the host for the May 5 season finale of "Saturday Night Live." We’ll have to wait until then to see what the writers have planned for him, but here are some past SNL sketches that would have worked well for Eli.

MacGruber (Will Forte) is an international action star. Yet he’s always being blown up. In this episode, his younger, less respected brother (played by Eli Manning) tags along and manages to disarm every bomb in the clutch at the last second. Meanwhile, MacGruber suffers a neck injury.

“Celebrity Jeopardy”

Eli Manning appears on “Celebrity Jeopardy” with Alex Trebek (Will Ferrell), Burt Reynolds (Norm MacDonald) and Sean Connery (Darrell Hammond). Reynolds calls a category about Super Bowls “superb owls,” while Connery enjoys a category about Calvin Johnson and Chris Johnson called “C. Johnsons.”

“Massive Head Wound Harry”

Harry (Dana Carvey) shows up at a dinner party and horrifies the guests with his massive head wound. Eli Manning plays the party’s host, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who fears he will be sued for Harry’s injuries.

“Pick in a Box”

Dressed as New York Jets quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow, Andy Samberg and Eli Manning perform a love song to defensive backs about interceptions.

“United Way”

Peyton Manning returns and abuses innocent little children, including his brother, Eli Manning.
