Lawrence Taylor Jr. put his father’s Super Bowl XXV ring up for auction last week, and current Giants star Osi Umenyiora swooped in to save the day.

Umenyiora then reduced the target follower total to 500,000. But, alas, the deadline came and went, and he fell about 450,000 followers short. So close!

Of course, he then stepped forward, did the right thing and bought Taylor’s his ring back anyway. Wait, what? He didn’t? Why not?
