More about my personality, beyond what they see on the field.

That I’m outspoken. I actually tend to be pretty introverted.
What is your pregame ritual?
I try to calm myself down and get into a good mental state. I’ll listen to John Butler Trio.

I love beach volleyball.
What experience do you have competing against men?
We tend to play men’s teams to prepare for the Olympics. It’s intense. But I think we can hold our own. They’re a little bit faster and stronger, a little bit more physical, but we are more talented on the ball and more tactically aware, so it tends to even out.
How many fan letters do you receive per week?
Oh, boxes. They go to three different addresses: my agent, U.S. soccer and "Dancing with the Stars." The scary thing is some of it comes to my home address as well.
What’s next for you?
A vacation. I haven’t had time for that for about two years. I need to turn off the phone and computer and get away.
What’s one thing you always have with you (and you can’t say a phone)?
Who would you want to play you in your biopic?
What do you like best about your job?
The challenge of always trying to be the best.
If you could go to dinner with one person, dead or alive, who would it be?
What is your guilty pleasure?
What is your most irrational fear?
What is one thing you did in the past year that you never thought you’d do?
"Dancing with the Stars." Dancing in front of millions of people.
What talent would you most like to have?
I wish I could sing. I have a very weak voice box.
