Misty May-Treanor is arguably the most famous beach volleyball player in the world.

She teamed with Kerri Walsh to win gold medals in the 2004 and 2008 Olympics, and the tandem also won gold at the world championships in 2003, 2005 and 2007.

Prior to her professional career, May-Treanor captained Long Beach State to an undefeated season and an NCAA volleyball championship in 1998. She's also married to Dodgers catcher Matt Treanor.

May-Treanor and Walsh will try to earn their third Olympic gold medal next month in London. ESPN The Magazine caught up with May-Treanor recently to ask her a few offbeat questions. Here's what transpired:

What question are you asked most by fans?

“How do you get your suits to stay on?” We have them specially made so there’s no slipping.

What is the last thing you Googled?

Johnny Cash. I just watched "Walk the Line." I love that movie.

Which pro athlete would you never want to trade places with?

Somebody in boxing. Mike Tyson. I couldn’t handle punches the way he did.

If you could go to dinner with one person, dead or alive, who would it be?

Elvis. He was a meat and potatoes type of guy, so maybe we’d go back to his hometown and eat some good barbecue.

What is your most irrational fear?

As I get older, I’m developing a fear of heights. But I want to skydive, so go figure.

What is your pregame meal?

Lately I’ve been into tuna sandwiches. Tuna on whole wheat really hits the spot.

Which sport are you most excited to watch in London?

I like watching sports that I normally can’t, that aren’t as well publicized. It’s easier to get tickets, and it’s fun. I went to table tennis and boxing in Beijing. If I get the chance, I’d like to go to track and field this year.

What’s one thing you always have with you?

My wallet and my credit cards because I don’t want to sleep out on the street.

What’s the most embarrassing music you have to admit you listen to?

In our sport, when I say country, many people are like, “What?” People give country a bad rap, but I like it.

What’s the best advice you ever received?

To just be thankful every time you step out there. Because there are so many who would love to trade places with you. That's from my dad.

Who would you want to play you in your biopic?

Sandra Bullock. She’s one of my favorite actresses, and I think she’s pretty similar to me.

If you were a talk show host, which celebrity would you want as your first guest?

Johnny Depp. He’s such a great actor, but he’s so mysterious at the same time.

What's your idea of a perfect day?

My husband and I have nothing going on, no games, no nothing. We’re able to wake up together and get coffee. It’d be nice if we were somewhere tropical, so we could walk out on the deck and just sit in the sun and spend time with each other. And then fall asleep under the stars. Oh, and our cell phones happen to fall in the water so we can’t get calls or emails from anybody.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Chips and dip. I love that.

What game show would you like to be a contestant on?

I’d love to go back to "Dancing With the Stars." Or "The Amazing Race" or one of those adventure shows.

What music is stuck in your head these days?

Justin Bieber, lately. And I seem to always end up singing “Good Feeling” by Flo Rida.

What’s your pregame pump-up music?

I have a lot of David Guetta on my iPod. I really like “Titanium.”

What place in the world do you most want to visit?

I just got back from Italy and want to take my husband there, but we’ve also talked about going to Australia and New Zealand. We really want to go there.

What was your best Halloween costume?

Little Bo Peep. My mom helped me put it together. I had a square dancing outfit, staff, sheep noisemaker, long wig and bonnet.

What’s one thing you did in the past year that you never thought you’d do?

I finished taking classes for a master’s degree. Also, I shook hands with Larry King.

What movies have you seen more than any other?

"Overboard." I think that’s hilarious. "Walk the Line." I love that. "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." And I have "Blue Hawaii" on my iPad.

What is your secret hidden talent?

I like to cook. I’ll try anything. My husband’s my guinea pig. I like going to the farmer’s market and picking fresh vegetables and trying new recipes.

What talent would you most like to have?

Being musically inclined and able to play an instrument. Or being able to draw something other than stick figures would be nice.

What’s your most prized possession?

Besides people, who can’t be replaced, I’d say my gold medals.

What’s your least favorite chore?

Decluttering. I’m not good at getting rid of things. And dusting. That makes me sneeze.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?

The power to heal.

What was the first thought in your head when you woke up this morning?

“I’m doing well for four hours of sleep.”
