Pirates revelation: Humans make mistakes!

By Paul Lukas

Brock Holt
Brock Holt's number was placed on the wrong side of his jersey... but by who (or what)?
Bit of a uniform glitch Monday in Pittsburgh, as Pirates second baseman Brock Holt had his uni number on the wrong side of his jersey.

This led to one of the more amusing tweets of the year, as the Pirates officially explained the situation this way:

In regards to Brock Holt's jersey today, it was a mistake made by a human being and will be corrected.

Hmmm, "a mistake made by a human being." I guess that rules out all the other possibilities everyone had been wondering about, such as:

• It was a mistake made by a space alien.

• It was an act of God.

• It was the latest example of the Sinister Robot Conspiracy.

• The number just got up and walked over to the other side of the jersey on its own.

• Brock Holt just has to be different.

Thanks for clearing that up, Pirates!
