Song: “Eye of The Tiger” by Survivor
Tradition: Played during key moments, including as a rally-starter, at Comerica Park
Fun facts:
• The eyes of two giant Tigers adorning the scoreboard light up when the song is played.
• When they hear the song, fans know it’s an important point in the game, says Eli Bayless, director of promotions and in-game entertainment. “It’s a call-to-action type of song.”
Bonus music:
• Players’ walk-out songs are often representative of the city’s love of Motown: Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, The Temptations and Marvin Gaye are among the most-used artists.
• Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” with the line “Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit,” is also on the in-game playlist.
