Song: “Build Me Up, Buttercup” by The Foundations
Tradition: Played during the seventh-inning stretch at Angel Stadium
Fun facts:
• Rumor has it “Buttercup” was chosen by owners Arte and Carole Moreno because it was among their favorite songs, but the Angels say it was simply the first song tested ... and it tested well.
• Fans sing along as the words are displayed on one of four outfield video boards.
Bonus music:
• Train’s “Calling All Angels” accompanies a montage of historic Angels footage before every game.
• Every season, the club’s in-game entertainment staff produces new videos of the Rally Monkey that helped the Halos to the 2002 World Series title. They usual depict the pumped-up primate in a popular movie clip.
