The Beastie Boys and MCA in video games
By ESPN Playbook
Adam Yauch and the Beastie Boys registered an impact across the pop culture spectrum, and video games were no exception.
The Beasties were unlockable characters in a 1994 version of "NBA Jam," and again in the 2010 release.
But one of their biggest appearances was in EA Sports' "NBA Street V3" in 2005, where Yauch and the boys were unlocked after winning the 5 Boroughs Tournament or gaining street points.
The game included the Beasties' ode to their hometown, “An Open Letter To NYC” off their 2004 album "To the 5 Boroughs" on the game's soundtrack.
