'MLB 13: The Show' cover vote begins

By Jon Robinson

Sony launched its “MLB 13: The Show” online cover vote Monday with fans able to click on one of seven superstars in hopes of seeing their favorite slugger or hurler showcased on the game’s box.

The candidates are Matt Kemp, CC Sabathia, Andrew McCutchen, Bryce Harper, Buster Posey, Ryan Braun and Miguel Cabrera.

Posey, coming off a World Series win and MVP season, seems like the obvious choice here, with Matt Kemp’s combination of style and substance not far behind (unless it just burns Dodger fans so much that a Giant might win the cover that the L.A. crowd floods the ballot boxes).

And since there’s no limit to the amount of times fans can vote for their favorite athlete, it could just take one dedicated fan to launch the likes of McCutchen or Harper to cover stardom.

Fans have less than one week to head to the official “MLB 13: The Show” site to vote, with the winner being announced on Friday, Jan. 11.
