'Tiger 14' introduces LPGA, nighttime golf
By Jon Robinson
EA Sports announced the first details of “Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14” on Tuesday, including news of the LPGA’s inclusion and -- for the first time in “Tiger” history -- nighttime golf, complete with an illuminated ball.
There are several new features in "Tiger 14."
It’s the inclusion of the LPGA Tour that will be most applauded, especially to female gamers, as fans who create women characters in “Tiger 14” finally have a place to compete thanks to the inclusion of the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Not into creating characters? There are five LPGA golfers to choose from including the 2012 Rolex Player of the Year, Stacy Lewis.
In addition, “Tiger 14” boasts the new Legends of the Majors game mode, enabling gamers to take on some of the best golfers to ever swing a club (real or virtual). Legends include Seve Ballesteros, Ben Hogan, Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Sam Snead, Lee Trevino, and, of course, Tiger Woods. Gamers will even have the chance to win golf’s Grand Slam by playing historical events in The Masters, U.S. Open, PGA Championship, and The Open Championship.
And don’t worry about the wind or rain outside ruining your golf game, as the “Tiger 14” live weather feed enables you to play the video game any time, day or night, rain or shine, with no worries about a little lightning holding you off the 18th green.
Throw in an all-new online experience with up to 24 gamers, dynamic stat tracking and a live data feed for the entire field, and it looks like “Tiger 14” might just be worthy of that green jacket after all.
