The 2K simulators were down for Memorial Day, so we're picking up after the Heat's 93-79 win over the Celtics in Game 1 Monday night. Will things get any tougher for the Heat? Read on to find out.
Game 2 at Miami
Heat 98, Celtics 86 The Celtics have the history. The banners. The parquet. Unfortunately for them, the Miami Heat have LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Another “video game” performance from the best 1-2 punch in the league carried the Heat to a fifth consecutive playoff win and a 2-0 series lead. James (48 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists) and Wade (25 points, 3 steals, 4 blocks) were the only Heat players to reach double figures, but when they’re playing as well as they are, does depth even matter? Kevin Garnett continued his great play with 26 points and 12 rebounds, but the stingy Heat defense limited Paul Pierce and Ray Allen to a combined 5-22 shooting.
Chris who? The NBA 2K12 computers believe LeBron and D-Wade can handle the Celtics themselves.
Game 3 at Boston
Heat 101, Celtics 81 Coming back to Boston down 2-0, most observers assumed the proud Celtics would come out gunning. Instead, it was the Heat that played like the desperate team, racing out to a 24-point halftime lead and never looking back. The Heat were led by -- who else? -- James (39 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals) and Wade (32 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists). A barrage of Celtics' three pointers cut the lead to single digits early in the fourth quarter, but the Heat responded in a big way, closing the game out on a 14-2 run. If this is indeed the last stand for the Celtics’ veteran “Big Three,” it’s not going the way they would've hoped.
Game 4 at Boston
Heat 100, Celtics 88 The words “Boston Celtics” and “Sweep” have generally resulted in the Celtics coming out on top. Not this time. Again, the duo of James and Wade were just too much for the aging Boston nucleus to overcome. James (42 points, 9 rebounds) and Wade (31 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals) continued to toy with the Celtics and had Miami out in front 57-39 at halftime. A late surge by the Celtics only served to make the final score look more respectable, but this was simply four games of being outclassed.
