"Kung Fu Panda 3" won't be in theatres until at least 2016, and there are several unofficial previews already available on YouTube. Just don't tell Pablo Sandoval, whose three home runs were a smash on Twitter during the Giants' 8-3 victory over the Tigers in Game 1 of the World Series:

Barry Zito's RBI single off Justin Verlander capped off a long night for the Detroit starter in San Francisco and across social media, including this post from former major league pitcher Dirk Hayhurst (also known as @TheGarfoose) to his 18,000-plus Twitter followers:

That other RBI-single from Zito came in Hayhurst's major league debut against Giants on Aug. 23, 2008, and scored, ironically enough, Sandoval. The Giants won that game 4-3.

But how would Verlander do in San Francisco QB Alex Smith's fantasy league?

• NFL free agent Shaun Smith (@autumnsjs90) chronicled the arrival of his daughter on Twitter Wednesday before posting the above photo today. Smith, a nine-year veteran who last played for the Titans in 2011, welcomed Skylar Jayden Smith at 7:40 p.m. The baby weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and -- at least according to Smith's Twitter feed - dad, mom and baby (dubbed "team no sleep") were doing fine. After Skylar's birth, Smith sent this message to any potential employer: "Am ready for work lets go nfl all 32 teams my baby is here am am ready to come back to work."

• Legendary Georgia running back Garrison Hearst gave "On the Way To Saturday" stars Will and Ravi a workout at the team's practice facilities before the duo headed for Norman, Okla., and ESPN GameDay's appearance there this week before the Notre Dame-Oklahoma game.

• In case you missed it, "the Hoosiers are back" -- as noted in this video posted on the Indiana University Athletics' YouTube channel.
