Trending: Kung Fu Panda, Zito, Verlander
Barry Zito's RBI single off Justin Verlander capped off a long night for the Detroit starter in San Francisco and across social media, including this post from former major league pitcher Dirk Hayhurst (also known as @TheGarfoose) to his 18,000-plus Twitter followers:
@lukerussert hahah I stick strictly to wiffle ball these days— Matt Ryan (@M_Ryan02) October 25, 2012
Don't feel bad, Verlander. Zito did that to me once, too.— Dirk Hayhurst (@TheGarfoose) October 25, 2012
@thegarfoose Oh, oww! How embarrassing is that? Bet you're tempted to throw AT him the next time through the rotation. :P— Iain Delaney (@IainDelaney) October 25, 2012
That other RBI-single from Zito came in Hayhurst's major league debut against Giants on Aug. 23, 2008, and scored, ironically enough, Sandoval. The Giants won that game 4-3.
But how would Verlander do in San Francisco QB Alex Smith's fantasy league?
Guys, I'm doing it. Zito > Verlander— Alex Smith (@11_AlexSmith) October 25, 2012
