On Friday, the U.S. Postal Service issued limited-edition stamps to honor the muscle car of the late 1960s and early 1970s as part of the "America on the Move" series.

The stamps feature five iconic cars: the 1966 Pontiac GTO, the 1967 Shelby GT-500, the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, the 1970 Plymouth Hemi ’Cuda and the 1970 Chevelle SS.

"It's all about raw power," said former NASCAR driver and owner Kyle Petty, who teamed up with USPS to promote the stamps. "When you look under the hood of those cars, you see an engine, not a computer system. It's old-schooling."

Petty, who has driven the Shelby, Charger and 'Cuda, said that era will never be matched.

"Those are such iconic cars. The word 'Camry' has a hard time bringing up the thought of the muscle car standard," Petty said. "We're not in a muscle-car world right now. We're trying to get 60-70 miles per gallon and not 5.6 seconds in the quarter."
