Despite what you might think, Ryan Lochte has no problems making fun of himself.
An 11-time Olympic medalist, Lochte showed off how to exercise while working on a Web series called "Office Burn," made appearances on "90210" and "30 Rock" and, on Sunday, stars in his new reality show, "What Would Ryan Lochte Do?" on E!
Lochte, 28, is doing all this while still trying to find time to prepare for the swimming world championships and the 2016 Summer Olympics.
But that's OK. He knows what it will take to get in shape.
Playbook had a few minutes with Lochte.
Your six-episode reality show debuts on E! on Sunday. I know it's focusing on your life, family and relationships. How is it coming?
I get to hang out with my best friends and family and call it “work.” It doesn’t get any better than that. I will say that there isn’t a lot of downtime between shooting and training and being in the pool, but I signed up to do this show to bring awareness, I guess you could say, to the sport of swimming. During the Summer Olympics, swimming is the most-watched event overall, but you only see it every four years ... in the Olympics. NBA, MLB, NFL, you see every day on TV. I want swimming to be like that.
You're a Florida boy and you've been traveling a lot. Have you had any time for a break?
Not really, but I can’t complain. I am doing what I love.
Come on. I know you're not doing much training. For the rest of us, did you let yourself go and eat junk food?
Not every day, but I do eat pizza and wings at least once a week. Because I work out so much, I pretty much eat what I want. I don’t know if I could have it every day, but it’s my favorite food.
