Global Rallycross, which combines motorsports and action sports, will be part of tonight's races in Charlotte for the Coca-Cola 600 weekend.
Stephan Verdier, Travis Pastrana and Tanner Foust are among the drivers competing on a three-quarter-mile Rallycross course, which was constructed along the frontstretch and pit road of the 1.5-mile superspeedway.
One special car you'll be seeing is driven by Rhys Millen Racing's Verdier: the Disney XD's "Motorcity" No. 12.
The car will highlight the new Disney animated series set in a futuristic Detroit about an evil billionaire who bans personal freedoms including automobiles. It’s up to The Burners, a group of rebels, to stop him.
"I thought it was a perfect fit for Disney to work with RallyCross because our audiences are roughly the same," said Verdier, who last season drove the car to highlight the Disney XD show "Kick Buttowski." "Kids love these shows, love playing racing video games and that's what we show them on the track."
Global RallyCross Championship (GRC) made its American debut in 2011. RallyCross combines the best aspects of circuit racing, off-road racing and rally competition to deliver intense action. Foust won last year's title and Verdier finished fourth.
So Verdier is pumped for this season. He's already made an appearance on the TV show.
"I have to watch! I have to know what I'm talking about when kids come up and ask me questions," Verdier said. "I love the series. If I were a kid, I'd be watching also."
