Hall of Famers Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Goose Gossage, Rickey Henderson and Reggie Jackson are among the 50 former New York Yankees expected to attend the 66th annual Old-Timers' Day today at Yankee Stadium. Some recent players such as David Cone, David Wells and Paul O'Neill will be there also.

New EraThis is the hat the New York Yankees' alumni will be wearing today for the 66th annual event.
"Old-Timers Day means a lot to me, putting on the pinstripes again is truly an honor and a thrill," said David Wells, who played with the Yankees on two separate occasions. "I love rubbing elbows and hanging out with the 'new' alumni and the older players."

All the old-timers will be given a new cap made by New Era. Similar to the “1912” caps worn by the Yankees earlier in the season against the Boston Red Sox, the hats will be all gray with a patch on the side commemorating Old-Timers' Day.

"As you know I love caps and old memorabilia. But, I genuinely love the throwback design of the Yankees' 1912 cap that the alumni will be wearing," Wells said. "Since childhood, I grew up a Yankees fan. It was really a dream come true for me put on the pinstripes and pitch for them in Yankee Stadium."

So, David, you mind being called an old-timer?

"Absolutely not! It’s an honor! I am a young timer at Old-Timers Day," said Wells, who is 49. "When I compare myself to Ron Guidry, Goose and Berra I am a youngin’."
