Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops and quarterback Landry Jones visited ESPN's campus in Bristol, Conn., on Thursday to talk about last season and what's ahead for 2012.

One fan, on a TV sound set in California, is chomping at the bit for the season to begin.

That's Joshua Morrow, who plays Nicholas Newman on "Young and the Restless."

"The Sooners are my religion," said Morrow, who grew up in Oklahoma before heading to California to become an actor. "I've been back to watch the games several times. I'm into all their sports. I'm a tremendous fan."

Morrow, 37, lettered in five sports -- football, baseball, basketball, soccer and track -- in high school, and his passion was basketball. He played college ball at Moorpark College in California.

"I should have stuck with baseball or soccer," Morrow said. "Even in football, several schools were looking at me. I'm not saying my size was an excuse but I was 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds when I left high school."

Well, fans of the long-running soap opera are glad Morrow took up acting. He has played the son in one of the show's major families since 1994.

But sports are still in his blood. He is married and has three boys (and a girl on the way) and he loves coaching his sons' sports teams.

"This lifestyle of mine suits me perfectly because I work several days a week and I get to coach all my sons' teams. I see 95 percent of their games," Morrow said. "I never wanted to be a star and I don't really want to be famous. I just love the stability of my life. I'm a complete family guy."

And a Sooners fan.

"It's God's country back there in Norman," Morrow said. "We have everything going for us this season. I can't wait."
