Rob Riggle talks Chiefs, 'Nature Calls'
By Lynn Hoppes
Comedian Rob Riggle, who was raised in Overland Park, Kan., and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Theatre & Film from the University of Kansas, isn't apologetic about picking his Kansas City Chiefs each week on the "Fox NFL Sunday" pregame show.
"I love them. Their fate is mine. Their destiny is mine. We'll be back next year," said Riggle, who took over for Frank Caliendo as the show's comedic prognosticator. "Yes, I'd rather be 4-0 in my picks than 0-4, but I'm not going to stop picking them."
This week, Riggle is starring in "Nature Calls," a new R-rated comedy about a sibling rivalry taken to new heights involving camping. Johnny Knoxville and Patton Oswalt also star.
The PG-rated clip is above, while you can find a foul-mouthed version on the Internet.
"Anytime you get to cuss in front of kids, it's kind of fun," Riggle said. "The cast was a group of funny people. And the director let everybody play around a little bit. They let our characters go for it."
It's been a busy year for Riggle, with appearances on talk shows, TV shows and hosting the ESPYS in Los Angeles in July.
"That was one of the best experiences I've had in show business," Riggle said. "Seeing all those sports icon I admire was a great honor."
Now Riggle will just wait for the honor of the Chiefs -- who are 1-7 this season -- one day making the playoffs and ... winning the Super Bowl?
"When we win the Super Bowl, I'll be right there," Riggle said. "I'm not just talking about a Super Bowl appearance. I'm talking winning the Super Bowl trophy. It's going to be awesome."
