Donald Driver: I want to thank you fans
By Donald Driver Special to ESPN.com
Editor's note: Donald Driver, wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, on Tuesday night became the seventh athlete to win "Dancing with the Stars." He wrote this exclusively for ESPN.com.
We did it, Packer Nation! The Mirrorball Trophy is coming to Titletown!!!! I can’t thank all the sports fans out there who voted for me enough; your amazing support is something I will truly cherish as long as I live. I love you all!
Donald Driver and partner Peta Murgatroyd won Season 14 of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."
This was a team effort. I couldn’t have done this without the support of my beautiful wife and kids, an amazing partner, or your votes.
I heard so many stories through my Facebook and Twitter accounts from people who kept calling, calling and calling until they got through.
One woman told me she had to call 92 times during the finale just to get her five votes in! It’s been such an incredible experience, and I’m happy I was able to share it with millions and millions of unbelievable fans like you!
I’d also like to thank all of my fellow castmates. It was an honor to be a part of the cast that was the most talented in DWTS history.
It was truly special to be around so many great people. Each and every week we pushed each other to get better. We also had a lot of fun, and I will never forget the great times we had the past few months.
Now the focus goes back to football.
Physically, I feel incredible.
I can’t wait to get back up to Green Bay and get on the practice field with my teammates.
Winning this competition was sweet, but I still have a bitter taste in my mouth from last year’s playoff loss to the Giants.
We just brought the Mirrorball to Wisconsin, and now it’s time for another Lombardi Trophy!
