Good wishes to the Los Angeles Kings for winning their first Stanley Cup with a 6-1 victory over the Devils in Game 6 streamed across Twitter. The final vote for the newest North American Idol wasn’t even close:

Matthew Perry shared the news with his 469,000-plus friends:

Athletes across the social media spectrum lauded the Kings. Among them was this fellow Staples Center occupant:

Oakland QB Matt Leinart reconnected with his Los Angeles roots:

Miraculously, Al Michaels was trending after he was spotted using a slightly outdated piece of technology during Game 6. Minnesota’s Steven Kampfer might want to buy him an iPhone:

Nice flip phone Al Michaels. Get with the times?

Finally, this Philadelphia Flyer was wondering “what if?”

And then there was the Chad Ochocinco news, which had Miami Dolphins lineman Richie Incognito getting ready for an added role during training camp:

Shooting the Intro for Hard Knocks #Hollywood 😊😊…

Incognito’s newest big-name teammate should grab plenty of air time on the HBO show, especially with connections like this:

Today has been a great day... John Mayer sends me a copy of his album with a cool

Daisuke Matsuzaka has returned to the mound for the Red Sox after a year recovering from Tommy John surgery. Word in Japan is he has undergone quite an upgrade, at least according to this spot posted Monday as part of Nike's #NEWMATSUZAKA campaign:

• When Joey Logano bumped Mark Martin en route to Victory Lane this past weekend, it wasn’t the first time their careers collided, as Jim Pedley writes. (Racin’ Today)

• Looking for an unsung hero to thank for the Oklahoma City Thunder’s rise to the NBA Finals? Try GM Sam Presti, says Mark Kiszla. (Denver Post)

• The last time Zack Greinke pitched at Kauffman Stadium, it was an ugly scene for him, his Royals teammates and their fans. He returns Tuesday as the starting pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers, and there are rumblings about him eventually returning for good. (Kansas City Star)
