Phil Mickelson will take a big left turn and return to the United States early after shooting a 78 Friday and missing the cut at +11 following his first two rounds Royal Lytham & St. Annes in the British Open.

The Oakland Athletics welcomed 718 dogs to their 7th Annual Athletics Dog Day at the Park Thursday. The event raised $15,000 for Dog4Diabetics and, the team tweeted, will be submitted to be considered for the "the world record for most dogs to attend a sporting event."
