Samuel L. Jackson offers a nightly rundown on Twitter of the Olympic action as it happens live on tape via NBC. Wednesday, Missy Franklin, Dana Vollmer, Shannon Vreeland and Allison Schmitt set an Olympic record in their 4x200-meter freestyle relay victory (above), and Jackson didn't disappoint:

WHHHOOOOO! Women's 4X 200 Beatdown!! Lovin' it!, go USA!!

Two-time gold-medalists Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty May-Treanor saw their consecutive Olympic-set victory streak end at 32 before eventually defeating their Australian opponents.

American synchronized divers Troy Dumais and Kristian Ipsen scored a surprising third-place finish:

We got a Bronze Sync Diving medal. Who ya think took Gold?

That would be China.

Rebecca Soni's performance in the 200-meter breaststroke semifinal was more amazing than any piece of pulp fiction:

Rebecca breaks WORLD RECORD in a semi. Bar's set pretty high for tomorrow or just lettin' em know!

Chris Paul was trying to the fun back in "Fun and Games" with his shopping trip in London. He bought an "Airzooka" which will "blast a small but powerful concentration of air at an unsuspecting person" and pieced together a Royal visit:

Me and the lovely Queen of England! #LegoLand

On the heels of his congratulatory Tweet to Michael Phelps, President Obama followed it up about 14 hours later with this note to the gymnastics team:

@jordyn_wieber, @gabrielledoug, @aly_raisman, @mckaylamaroney, @kyla_ross96: Congratulations! You’ve made us all proud. #TeamUSA

Meanwhile, the gynmasts found a ringer for their pick-up hoops team with this three-time Olympian and fellow gold-medalist (from 2008):

#REPRESENT !!!!!!!…

A slew of big-name celebrities including Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift continued to bombard the gymnasts on Twitter Wednesday. Swift even extended her kudos to the pool:

So blown away by @franklinmissy! I was so happy to see you win, girl :)

Bremerton, Wash., native Nathan Adrian swam to gold in the 100-meter freestyle and yes, "Yo Adrian" was a trending topic after his race was broadcast on NBC's evening coverage. Adrian's roommate Matt Grevers (who won gold in the 100-meter backstroke Monday) did Adrian a favor before the two showed off their Olympic bling:

As a present to @nathangadrian for winning I shall make his bed. You're welcome buddy.…

— Matt Grevers (@MattGrevers) August 1, 2012

Matt and I are doing alright so far!! #notbadforourtinyroom
