Terry Crews talks 'Expendables,' football

By Lynn Hoppes

Actor Terry Crews said he was cut by six football teams in seven years.

"Guess what? I'm still here," said Crews, one of the stars of "The Expendables 2," which hits theaters Friday and is a potential blockbuster. "When I realized that I had to take responsibility for my life, I've really hit the lotto."

It's been a busy summer for Crews, 44, who played for four NFL teams in the 1990s.

Along with this movie, Crews is appearing on NBC's "Stars Earn Stripes" and HBO's "The Newsroom," and he will return in September for TBS' "Are We There Yet?"

"For a while I started to blame others and started to wonder whether I could do this," Crews said. "I stopped that and started to get busy. And stay busy. That turned one job into another."

And Crews knows fans want to see more "Expendables" movies, but that might not be possible.

"This is the Pro Bowl of action movies. You'll never see this again. Adding Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme? That changes the game," Crews said. "Everyone is in this flick. I don't think you'll ever see this again. That's entertainment!"
