Blake Griffin talks food, flopping, freckles
By Lynn Hoppes
Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin might be everywhere, but he still is a pretty private person. He does his business on the court and for advertisers, but he keeps everything close to the vest. A few days ago, he was in Los Angeles working a promotion with Subway saying that during April people who stop in before 9 a.m. and buy any six-inch sandwich will get the second one free. (Griffin normally orders an egg and cheese sandwich to eat now and something to save for lunch.)
Well, this is Playbook Trending, so it's time to ask Griffin 5 Awkward Questions:
Blake, I'm starving. How many sandwiches can you eat if you tried?
"Probably the most I've ever eaten at one time are two 12-inches -- likely oven-roasted chicken breast on wheat. I don’t know if I could even push it any further."
You are from Oklahoma. What's it like adjusting to city slicker life?
"Nah, I didn’t really grow up on a farm or anything like that. I'm just having to get used to more traffic and more people."
OK. How many dunks do you have in your closet that you haven't shown people yet?
"None. I don't really keep any secrets."
What's all this over the Internet about you being a flopper? Tell me it's not true!
"Nah, that's not true. I think a couple people say that and then others just choose to run with it."
OK. Love the freckles. What was it like growing up with freckles?
"It was pretty normal. I didn't really think about it much. It didn't really bother me or anything."
