Dec. 10, 2006: He was a player worthy being the 21st Century "L.T." And on this day six years ago, San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson put a stamp on his finest season as a pro, scoring his 27th, 28th and NFL-record 29th touchdowns of the season.

The third came with power -- "50 Power," to be exact, a play off the left side that gained 7 yards on the Denver Broncos, and took the record from Shaun Alexander (who scored 28 TDs the year before).

Tomlinson, who retired before this season, went on to score 31 times in 2006 -- 28 on the ground, three through the air.

He won the MVP.
