June 9, 1993: Well, for now it's Canada's last Stanley Cup, and it was won on this day 19 years ago. That's when Patrick Roy (pictured) and the Montreal Canadiens added to their record total of NHL championships by beating the Los Angeles Kings 4-1 (game and series). Since then, the Cup has traveled to Dallas, Tampa, Raleigh and Anaheim, but not the land up north.
Patrick Dorsey is a Playbook editor. He has worked for the Web and newspapers, had a cup of craft service coffee in film school, and played in one Division III golf tournament (he shot 105).
