June 26, 2001: June 26 is a big day in NBA draft history, but sorry -- former Pittsburgh Pirates manager Lloyd McClendon steals this show. By stealing first base. Yes, he yanked the actual base from its rightful place on this day 11 years ago, after being tossed by umpire Rick Reed during a game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

No surprise: His tirade endures.
Patrick Dorsey works for SportsNation. He has worked for the Web and newspapers, had a cup of craft service coffee in film school, and played in one Division III golf tournament (he shot 105).
