Yearbook, Aug. 29: Moses Malone's big deal

Aug. 29, 1974: On this day 38 years ago, Moses Malone decided to cut class. Forever. Instead, the Maryland-bound big man went to New York City and signed (for a reported $3 million) with team president Jim Collier (pictured) and the Utah Stars of the ABA -- making him the first basketball player ever to jump from high school to the pros.
