Oct. 14, 1979: On this day 33 years ago, an 18-year-old Wayne Gretzky scored against the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL season's third game.

It wasn't The Great One's first pro goal -- he spent the previous year in the WHA -- but it was his first in the NHL. And yeah, it was the first of many, with many teams (894 with four, to be exact):
