Morning Links: Scouting combine invitees

SAN DIEGO -- The list is out for this year’s NFL scouting combine invitees, which you can check out here. The 335 invitees include a record 85 underclassmen.

Gil Brandt of offers eight draft prospects with things to prove at this year’s combine, including Central Florida quarterback Blake Bortles, Texas A&M receiver Mike Evans, and Pittsburgh defensive lineman Aaron Donald.

According to Khaled Elsayed of Pro Football Focus, San Diego receiver Keenan Allen finished 14th overall in the NFL yards per route run, while Vincent Brown finished among the bottom 10 in the NFL in this stat. It’s an interesting stat that shows some level of production, but I wouldn’t put too much weight into it. I like yards per catch better, because of the emphasis in the NFL on creating explosive plays.
