Morning links: Expected win totals


Good morning. In this ESPN Insider pieceInsider, ESPN NFL handicapper Dave Tuley examines the over/under win totals for all 32 teams for the upcoming season.

With the San Diego Chargers' win total set at 8.5, Tuley likes the over for the Chargers in 2014.

Tuley: “I was high on the Chargers last year and they came through for me on many occasions. I expect them to be over .500 again, and potentially challenge Denver for the division crown.”

Neil Paine of FiveThirtyEight.com takes a different approach to calculating which teams have the toughest schedule in the NFL for the upcoming season. According to his calculations, the Chargers have the seventh-toughest schedule, instead of tied for fourth overall.

Rod Woodson of the NFL Network says the Chargers are in danger of starting the season 0-2 in this video.

Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego says the Chargers do not have to invest high in the draft at offensive tackle with starters D.J. Fluker and King Dunlap, along with swing tackle Michael Harris returning from the injured reserve list.

Khaled Elsayed of Pro Football Focus grades every San Diego draft pick from 2009-11. The best, according to Elsayed, is offensive lineman Louis Vasquez. The worst is Larry English.
